sweet aromatics... 30 Jun 2008

I always love seeing brands from Thailand in the American market..,like these Karmakamet hand-poured Thai candles. I love the hand-stamped look of the packaging like they've been unearthed from an expedition. There isn't much information yet about the line on their website, but it looks like they may be tied into the Karmakamet Aromatic Hotel opening in August in Koh Samui, Thailand...sounds divine. The Siamese Jasmine Rice scent reminds me of childhood and rice being made in the kitchen. The candles are available right here...

specks of gorgeous light 27 Jun 2008

Lighting has got to be one of my serious obsessions in home decor. I especially love pieces that reflect the light in beautiful ways. These pieces from Australian Bernabeifreeman are simply stunning. With industrial design and lighting backgrounds, I love their use of industrial materials to produce really striking and feminine pieces.

So, my former intern Marissa {who has contributed to some posts here previously} recently ended her internship to graduate and go off into the working world. I'll really miss her and wish her all the best! So, today I introduce, my new intern Andrea, who will also contribute a couple posts here every week. Today...Andrea's picks are these screen-printed bath bags (or toiletry bags) by Mozi. {Welcome Andrea!}

{chicago sweet spot} rich chocolates 25 Jun 2008

Last summer when I visited a friend in Chicago, I seriously fell in love with the city and added it to the list of cities I'd totally love to live in. It was that summer I also found out about an amazing new chocolate line based in Chicago called Rich Chocolates. Chocolatier Lauren Pett brings her love of childhood and pop culture to her whimsical and creative morsels. With flavors like Mint Chocolate Chip, Pecan Pie, and Animal Crackers made of milk chocolate and praline wafer....yum! For now, Rich Chocolates is only available locally in Chicago at The Sweet Collective, but stay tuned for nationwide shipping come this holiday season.

I'm feeling like our bed at home needs a new outfit and I love these two duvets from DwellStudio called Thicket and Hedgerow. You know someone's done a great job styling when you want to live in the photo...yup, that bedroom scene on the right...I'll take the whole thing please! Oh, and I'll take that mobile on the left too...
