sweet dreams... 31 Jan 2011

As much as I love the idea of bright colors in bedding, I have a hard time committing and tend to favor neutrals instead. So I'm loving these color-blocked and striped pieces from Unison for their mix-and-match appeal that offer a step in a bright direction for bedding color commitment phobes like me. — Joy

jam sessions... 31 Jan 2011

Dagstani-and-sons1 Dagstani-and-sons-jam2

I have deep affection towards any kind of "something of the month" club...whether it be bacon, fruit, cheese {or shoes!}, so I love the idea of sending these artisanal jam sessions to the fruit jam enthusiasts in my life. Dagstani & Sons in Denver makes small-batch jam that is sourced locally, organic, and wild whenever possible for pairings that are out of this world. I had a chance to taste the Meyer Lemons and Cara Cara Oranges and the Pear Vanilla jams, and they taste like grown-up candy in a jar. I partnered the Pear Vanilla jam with goat cheese, mixing the sweetness of the jam with the slightly tart goat cheese for a creamy, salty, and sweet version of cheese and crackers... — Joy

I'm kind of a pedestal fanatic and currently loving the mix of white & wood, so these new wooden pedestals from Iacoli & McAllister are so up my alley. I love the mix of modern simplicity with classic craftsmanship. — Joy

{closet & casa} with nicolette owen... 26 Jan 2011

who: Nicolette Owen, Floral Designer

in her closet: I treasure handmade pieces from friends, and these beauties were designed by my dear friend Fay Andrada. I've worn them nearly everyday since I got them so in turn she ended up naming them "the Nicolette's"!

in her casa: This antique milk crate table was a surprise gift from my friend's father! Miles is an excellent craftsman, and I've been admiring his woodwork for years. I recently redid my living room {I painted it dusty pink!} and it was the perfect addition with the beautiful wood top and metal frame—I love it! I feel so lucky to have one of his pieces in my home.

Thanks Nicolette!

fun with friends... 26 Jan 2011

During the photo shoot for the new Ban.do collection, Jen & Jamie asked a few of their friends to join in on the glitzy superstar action. This meant...putting on a cute outfit, getting our hair & makeup done professionally, putting on a Ban.do {or several} to our heart's content, then making silly faces in their sexy shiny mylar photo booth...um, how could we say no?!? Here are a few fun shots from the day. You might see some familiar faces here for sure...role call: Bri, Amanda, Elizabeth, Jaimi, Catherine, Jen, Lydia, Shoko, Jaime, Margaux, and I'm in the polka dotted dress!} — Joy

hot pants... 26 Jan 2011

Ever since I ordered a pair of pink pants from J.Crew {that sadly had a too baggy fit and had to be returned}, I've been on a mission to find another pair of slim-legged bright pants for the spring. So I'm loving the colors of these poppy pants from Zara and on the hunt for other not-too-pricy pairs like these. And, PS. Why doesn't Zara have an online shop?Joy
