happy friday + lil' potatoes...

Ohjoy-friday-potato-onesie

Happy Friday folks! Thank you so much for your sweet comments, tweets, and emails about our big news earlier this week! It's amazing how supportive and kind you all have been, and I'm so touched. We haven't bought any clothes for baby Cho yet {not till we know if the babe is a he or she}, but I did find this potato onesie that I bought at a craft fair many years ago. I was so far from even considering parenthood at that point but because of my love of potato products, I had to. And, now several years later, it still seems so fitting for our future babe. This little guy would be the perfect pairing with the heart tee I picked up the other day for myself...but I love the message the potato and heart send together, too. Have a great weekend all! — Joy

Love this image from a recent engagement shoot photographed by Alison Conklin and styled by Styled Creative. What could be better than a message made out of pancake? And note the tiny stacked pancake ring...eek! — Joy

{closet & casa} with susan brinson...

who: Susan Brinson, Art Director

why susan rocks: I was lucky to spend some time at Susan's loft in New York a few months ago and I was blown away by her and William's eclectic style and impressive loft renovations!

in her closet: I would have to say accessories, specifically jewelry. I love gold and leather, so anything with that combination is a must have. I can change my clothing style through out the years, but I always return to the same gold jewelry. William (my hubby) gave me the white and gold bracelet a few years ago, then I tracked down the designer at the Brooklyn Flea holiday market to buy the grey and gold one. I love them!

in her casa: I love our vintage tailors cabinet and vintage teapots. The contrast between the light and dark and of course the gold, black and white is a big draw for me. I bought the teapots in Cornwall, Ontario and the cabinet is from Georgia. These design elements are classic to me and I will return to them time and time again.

Thanks Susan!

Trader-joes-chocolate-croissants

My current cravings seem to include sour & vinegary things like lemonade and pickles...or buttery chocolate things...like croissants! So I finally stocked up on a box from Trader Joe's after a recommendation from Julie. While I'd love them to have twice as much chocolate oozing out, they're flaky and buttery and offer that freshly baked feeling that I couldn't normally get at home. A morning feast! — Joy

Friends, we have some BIG news to announce today. It's my biggest and most exciting endeavor yet...a baby! Bob and I are expecting our first baby, and we couldn't be more thrilled. I've just started my 2nd trimester, and we're due October 24th. It's been so hard keeping the news in, especially as I was feeling so sick, nauseous, and exhausted during the 1st trimester and having a hard time keeping up with work and eating all of the things I love most! So, we're thrilled to be able to share the news with you now. I'll be sure to keep you posted when we find out the sex of the baby {in 6 weeks!} and other fun news along the way. And have no fear, Oh Joy won't turn into a baby blog. But considering my new circumstance, some things that are too cute not to post just may pop up from time to time!  — Joy
