Let's Discuss: On Finding Love

double-sided pillow cases!

Spoonflower-30-blog

One of the easiest (and least expensive) ways to dress up your bed is by changing up your pillow cases every so often. Since we usually need a few pairs on hand for when laundry time comes, I love the idea of maximizing your pillow case options by making your own double-sided pillow cases!. That way, one set of pillow cases is really like two and you can change it up as your heart desires. Today, we've partnered with Spoonflower using their Fill-A-Yard fabric, to create a bunch of mix-and-match double-sided pillow cases. Here's how!

happy friday + try some new things this weekend...

Oh Joy Pattern Play

Sometimes we get so bogged down by the everyday—schedules, our usual workday, getting kids from school, making lunches, morning/evening commutes that we forget to try new things. This weekend, I want to break out of my usual routine and do some new things with the kids and just mix it up! How about you? Anything new you've been wanting to try and just need to go for?

Oh Joy for Milk Snob

For those of you with babies or babies on the way, you'll be so excited to see our newest collaboration with Milk Snob! I've been a fan of these covers back when I was in my early baby/nursing days. They are so, so soft and double/triple as a car seat cover when baby is sleeping, a nursing cover for yourself, a grocery cart cover, and more. With the launch of our newest Oh Joy for Target nursery collection, we worked with Milk Snob to create two covers that match our new nursery bedding and accessories!

color adventures: oh joy wears black & white!

Black-white-outfits-13-grid-blog

When we were deciding what July's color combination should be for this month's Color Adventure, there were some debates in the Oh Joy office as to whether "black and white" counted as options. They aren't the over-the-top, unexpected colors that we have previously featured in the past six months. But then, what we realized, is that you never see me wearing black and white. And, we rarely style anything in black and white! So, while the two colors together are nothing new, here's a look at black and white the Oh Joy way! Today, we'll start off with four very fun outfits...

my 5 favorite beauty products for summer...

my 5 favorite beauty products right now

I'm not a big beauty junkie, but I definitely have my daily go-to staples. Here are my five favorites for every day use this summer...

1. Nars Orgasm blush—I know everyone has this blush, but it is still the best one I've ever used for my skin tone. It's the perfect rosy shade that allows you to go more or less intense depending on how much you apply, and the gold shimmer adds a really pretty texture.

2. No. 07 Serum—I tried this for the first time for a sponsored post we did last year and have been obsessed ever since. It's made the texture of my skin smoother, and I love using it on a hot day as moisturizer because it's lighter than a typical face lotion.

3. Glossier Sunscreen—For almost my whole life, I have used the same Oil of Olay facial lotion with SPF 15. But I recently tried this one by Glossier which I love for summer because it's light in texture and has SPF 30 which is helpful during the summer months to give extra protection daily.

4. Glossier Cherry Balm—I put this on every morning before I walk out the door. It gives my lips instant moisture, but also a tint of color so I look somewhat awake before I head to work.

5. Lipstick Queen—This lipstick looks pale yellow but changes color once it touches the heat from your lips for a rosy coral that adds a punch of color without being too bold. I love how it changes depending on your shade of skin and looks slightly different on everyone.

Ok, so those are my summer favorites! I'd love to hear yours, too!
