Oh Joy

oh joy color adventures: a peach and green office!
9 Oct 2017

I'm pretty obsessed with our color combination for this month's Color Adventures...peach and green. It's inspired by a traditional pumpkin which is orange and green...but we tweaked it a tad to be softer and less pumpkin-like ;) See how this office came together in these two beautiful shades...

1. The colors. We started with a color-blocked peach and muted green wall. While I know not everyone wants to put two distinct colors on their wall, the muted green was key to making the peach pop! These two colors compliment each other really well and create a bright and fun office space. The multi-colored rug brings in other colors that accent the peach and green nicely, too. But you could also do a neutral grey rug with this color combo.

2. Clean lines. To make a colorful room still feel grown-up, keep the furniture simple and clean. Round things tend to make a room softer and younger, while straight lines help make it more sleek. We added our usual neutrals in white and gold...and this time added a special extra dose of metal with a rose gold and peach chair. It adds glam and modern sophistication to the room. Also, by placing the desk's side against the wall, it allows for a more interactivity with the rest of the space than if you were to face the wall.

3. Plants, plants, plants! To accent the green, there are a couple real plants placed in this space as well as garden-inspired art on the walls. It adds both texture and a calming feel to this productive space.

What do you think? I'd gladly work in here any day of the week!
