fashion week favorites

Fashionweekfall08

New York Fashion week is almost coming to an end..here are a few of my favorites from the past week in addition to these posted over at Bluelines. Some common overall themes with ready-to-wear...skinny contrast belts, die-cut edges and cut-outs, 3-D forms, greys & blacks mixed with muted jewel tones, pumpkin/rust as a popular hue, and metallics are still popular as ever.

New York Fashion Week is in full swing! So, I'll be posting some of my favorite looks from the Fall runways over the next week. BCBG Max Azria's Fall 07 collection has a gorgeous mix of muted earth tones with tone-on-tone metallics. Also, check out some of the black & gold dresses {not shown here} that are lovely as well...

We're less than a week away...

from Olympus Fashion Week! I love seeing what the tent looks like every season. Since I'm no longer in New York, that becomes more difficult...but here's a sneak preview of the tent styling this season...covered with prints from Carmen Marc Valvo (mosiac print), Diane von Furstenberg (blue branch print), Milly by Michelle Smith (black & white print), Tibi’s Amy Smilovic (rainbow print), and Heatherette designers Richie Rich and Traver Raines (not shown). All of the patterns from the selected designers will appear in their Fall collections as well as all over the tents, media, and surrounding areas of Bryant Park.

Fashion Week Recap

Another Fashion Week has come and gone. Here are a few pieces by Willow and Donna Karan to give us something to look forward to in Spring '06.

Fashion Week - Part II

More from this week's shows...from Cynthia Rowley, Peter Som, Y&Kei, and Betsey Johnson. Can you tell I like flowy dresses?

Oh, Fashion Week! I miss you!

Before leaving New York, I had TWO different jobs which allowed me to attend every Fashion Week in some capacity. The late start times, the bitchy fashionistas, the loud music, bright lights, and the models that made me feel like I had too much to eat that day. Oh, I miss it....

Here are some of my faves from the Spring 2006 shows this week. Tracy Reese, Proenza Schouler, Marc by Marc Jacobs...and my new favorite, Temperley.
