Oh Joy / Kids' Style

As we reach the last month of summer (Ah, how is it August already?!?), it's a time of year where I'm always looking for ways to make the most use out of a summer wardrobe and how the same pieces can be worn into fall.

With the little ones in mind, here's a new video we made to show how to wear a dress, a denim vest, and a button-up tee three different ways from the summer through the fall. Check out the video below to see. And, make sure you watch till the end because it's VERY cute... ;)

a baby's memorabilia shelf... 27 Jul 2015

Baby Memorabilia Shelf DIY

I often collect little cute trinkets or treasures for my kids that have some sort of meaning. But it can be hard to figure out where to put these little things or know to how to display them. So we came up with this memorabilia shelf for a baby's nursery to hold small treasures and keepsakes.

We made this one for a couple who has roots in Philly and Los Angeles and cultural backgrounds from Mexico, the Philippines, and Colombia, so you'll see a variety of pieces that reference those parts of them show up here. Watch the video below to see the full how-to!

And to see all the materials and steps, I've repeated them below for reference! And please subscribe to the Oh Joy channel to see more videos.

Oh Joy Answers

Hey guys, here's my newest video in the Oh Joy answers series. Today I'm talking about the one thing that I think has helped me to find success in my career. It might seem like common sense, but it's something I've been doing since I started my career 14 years ago...

What do you think? What has helped YOU find success in your career?

And, I promise I'll be wearing a different shirt in the next Answers video (We filmed the last 5 videos on the same day ;).

Oh Joy YouTube videos

One of my goals for 2014 was to create more video content this year. It was something I was scared to do, but found it to be a good challenge to get more comfortable talking in front of the camera and to bring content to you guys in new ways within personal style, entertaining, DIY, and behind-the-scenes of my product designs.

I have a couple more videos left to share with you this year, but then I'll start planning for next year. So, I'd love to know how you guys are liking the videos and any requests for types of videos you'd want to see more of next year? I appreciate and value so much your thoughts and feedback!

Dressing the Bump / Fall Outfits

Alright guys, this is my last pre-baby episode of Dressing the Bump! We're at 36 weeks and talking about how to layer for fall with blazers, jackets, sweater dresses, and long-sleeve rompers.

These videos have been really fun to make for you, and it's also challenged me to really celebrate that bump while pregnant. I hope you'll share this series with your sisters, friends, and co-workers who are expecting! I have one last post-baby bump video coming after our little lady arrives and will cover that "post-baby bump" as well as some great pieces to wear while nursing.

You can find all sources for the clothing worn in this video below...

a thank you necklace DIY! 3 Oct 2014

Marbled Necklace DIY

Happy Friday friends! For this second baby, we didn't have an actual baby shower, but some of my YouTube friends decided to throw me a Virtual Baby Shower! Each one of them is sharing a video of something they’d make to contribute to a real life baby shower.

As a thank you, today I’m going to show you how to make these Thank You Baubles. Rather than just writing a card, you can make these little necklaces to send to friends with a thank you note to show how much you appreciate their gifts or for hosting your shower. The best part is, they are super easy to make but look like you spent way more time than you actually did! And your friends get a little keepsake they can use and wear regularly!

P.S. Have a great weekend and stay tuned next week for another fun marbling project!
