Show Review

Wow...what a day I had yesterday. I went to New York to attend the three shows going on simultaneously: The National Stationery Show, Surtex, and ICFF. Here are some of my faves from the shows. I'll continue to post more about some new finds in the weeks to come. One noteable highlight of the Stationery Show...I saw Martha Stewart working her way through the booths! Everyone stared, but pretended not to...including me.

In the Relish booth, there were some of my favorite design folks! Good on Paper, Jill Bliss, and K. Autumn. Among them were the folks of Boon. They use high quality pulp-free abaca papers from the Philippines to create super colorful and gorgeous notepads, file folders, and portfolios...up close, they are super gorgeous and detailed...(see Design*Sponge for great photos of their work.)

I finally got to meet two sets of folks I've loved and been in touch with in the past. Erica of Paperbride (left) and Nat & Armand of Uncooked...

I loved the whimsical watercolor illustrations of Masha D'yans...

Candy Wrapper Mailers from Swizzle Factory...

Simple & sweet cards from Seraph...

Pillows, stationery, and home accessories from Working Class Studio...

Gorgeous layered wallpaper, furniture, and textiles by Catherine Hammerton...

Finely detailed votive holder from Artecnica...

Modern furniture and accessories for baby (and their cool parents) from Ducduc...

Stunning hanging lamps from Bocci...

Beautiful details and organic qualities in the furniture and interiors of Matt Gagnon...

New additions to the Dwell Baby line...

And, finally...to top off the day...a meeting of design worlds with a lovely dinner...

There's so much more I saw and loved. For more coverage of the shows, check out Design*Sponge and Love Made Visable.

Cool Blog: Something Old, Something New

Here's a new (and stylish) wedding blog I've been loving lately. Something Old, Something New shares finds for modern weddings and parties. The author of Something Old, Something New is a Brooklynite named Mackenzie who runs the super chic invitation company KenzieKate.

Swap goodies!

Yay for swapping goods with great folks across the world! I'm interrupting my mini break to post some fab things I received last week from two of my favorite design blog folks overseas. Sabine sent me some wonderful jewelry pieces, both modern and vintage...as well as tons of fun vintage papers and pieces. Imelda sent me a cool design magazine from Singapore called ISH. I also love the work of Caroline Hwang who is featured in this issue of ISH and shown below. Thanks Imelda & Sabine!

Cool Artist: Carolina Chaves Urruzmendi

I just came across the work of artist & designer Carolina Chaves Urruzmendi. Carolina has a variety of work including illustrations, prints, and graphic design. Throughout all her pieces, there's a lovely hand gesture and elegant yet whimsical feel.

Cool Blog: You May Now Kiss the Blog

Yesterday, I came across a great blog through Weddingbee called You May Now Kiss the Blog. Kate, the author of You May Now Kiss the Blog writes about her wedding highs and lows in a super funny and super visual manner. You've got to see the animations on the bottom right of the blog which are just hilarious!

Goodbye Mid-20's!

Well folks...it's true...today, I have officially entered my late-20's at the ripe old age of 27. I'll be taking a blog break for the rest of the week into early next week...but I have a bunch of new posts coming later today. I'll be back on Wednesday after a weekend of birthday celebrations and the Stationery & Surtex Shows in New York!
