mexico's riviera maya, anyone?

Last year when heading to Maui for our honeymoon, I received such amazing suggestions of things to do from my wonderful readers who had previously been there. So, I thought why not see if anyone's been to Mexico!...particularly Mexico's Riviera Maya. We're thinking about a getaway and I would love to any feedback, if you've been. What areas have a decent amount of things to do & any resorts you recommend? If you'd like to share your thoughts, feel free to leave a comment or email me at: info {AT} ohjoystudio.com. Thanks!

{Thanks so much to everyone for their great advice, tips, and suggestions! We're heading there in the Fall for our 1st Anniversary trip and will be sure to give an update on where we end up going!}

nantaka joy shop list

Hi everyone! For those of you who have emailed asking for store availability and some more info., here are a few new photos of my Nantaka Joy line. The website won't be fully running until next month, so I've also posted a shop list of stores where you can currently find the cards & notebooks. If you'd like to be added to the mailing list for the website launch, send an email to: info{at}nantakajoy.com.

june snippets

My favorite bits from this month's magazines...

{left to right, top to bottom: Emily Chalmers' home in June Elle Decoration (UK), Kenneth Kvarnstrom's home in June Elle Decoration (UK), Teen Vogue's June/July story on Julie Verhoeven's t-shirts for Mulberry, and Leonie Brown's bedroom in Domino June/July.}

the cupcake deck

Oh, I love small gifts that really put a smile on your face. I just received The Cupcake Deck as a belated bday present and simply love it! Based on the book Cupcakes by Elinor Klivans, the deck pulls out 25 recipes into individual cards, which are so much more convenient for baking than trying not to get a nice book all messy...get The Cupcake Deck here...

shop roam

Soon after leaving New York a couple years ago, I heard about Roam after receiving a gift from a friend she bought at Roam. The quaint shop on New York's Upper West side has a great mix of housewares, accessories, and gifts. Roam now has an online shop - so you can shop from afar...

Cool Artist: Angie Lewin

I love the quirky, organic forms and 50's mid-century vibe of Angie Lewin's prints and textiles. The muted colors are gorgeous. You can see more of her printed fabrics here...

perfect patchwork

The June issue of Elle Decoration (UK) has a great story on the work of Lisa Whatmough of Squint, and I had to share the love. You may have seen Lisa's brightly colored patchwork furniture in various home editorials as they really are such a treat for the eyes. Squint is carried at her own shop in London, Liberty (also in London), as well as J. Roaman in the Hamptons (US)....
