for the love of light: a polaroid project

Here's a sneak peek of a new project called For the Love of Light: a Tribute to the Art of Polaroid. The book features 25 Polaroid photographers - some have been shooting for years - some of them months - with a common love for the art of the polaroid. The book is due out in mid-July, but see more details and sign-up for the mailing list right here.

beautiful little books

...by UK book artist Rachel Hazell...

feeling a dark contrast of florals...

{left to right, top to bottom: cushion by day birger, stacking boxes by day birger, pink chicken amelia dress (for kids), flowers by saipua, coffee mint soap by saipua, and tray by simrim.}

succulent & sweet

It seems as though succulents have become much more popular in the past couple years as people are becoming more green and because of their ease of care. While I prefer the softer versions to their pointy cacti counterparts, I also love the use of succulents mixed with other flowers and plants.

{left to right, top to bottom: succulent patch by Art Fool, yellow bouquet by Ink&Peat, centerpiece by Mindy Rice {via Style Me Pretty}, terrarium by Ink&Peat.}

simple little bits

I've been infatuated with little, random objects recently. So, I thought I'd share with you some of the objects I've collected over the past year and been putting around my home. Most of them sit on white wooden blocks on various walls in our house.

{left to right, top to bottom: Henry the Owl by Lauren Alane, wooden apple from Three Potato Four, print by  Elisabeth Dunker, ceramic bird from Curiosity Shoppe, vintage perfume bottle topper, wooden blocks from Three Potato Four,  bird toothpick holder from Doe, and log bowl from Loyal Loot.}

handsome contrast

Lately, I've been really into handsome and classic things...like contrast leather straps mixed with more casual materials...

{left to right, top to bottom: graf-lantz wine bottle holder, 3.1 phillip lim fabergé bag, enameling turnpike brief from jack spade, and graf-lantz duo wine bottle holder.}

drew's office in april's domino

While I am a huge fan Domino's real (non-celebrity) cover girls, the next issue features Drew Barrymore, one of the nicest and most down to earth celebs out there. The April issue shows off her gorgeous office (designed by Ruthie Sommers) and members of her staff. Check out more images that won't be in the new issue right here...
