{happy lady makes}: mushroom bison chili

When I'm not exploring local foodie finds, this Happy Lady does enjoy spending time in the kitchen whipping up some my favorite culinary delights. Mind you, I tend to cook sans recipe because I lack patience for recipes that require steps that must be followed precisely. Being influenced by the methods of Thai cooking growing up, I tend to cook in a "throw-together" manner tasting the dish as I go. (So, yes, baking is not one of my strong suits!) If it cannot be tasted before it's done, I'd rather not make it myself.

rainbow bright...

Folks, I've found myself in a color tizzy...a rainbow color tizzy to be exact. While I know rainbows + food do not usually mix, after seeing this amazing cake {left} by Colour Lovers and this box of Meert marshmallows {right} by London Eater , I want to take out the food coloring and go buck wild on anything and everything edible.

party people...

Maybe it's the upcoming holidays or this post from last week, but I feel like being surrounded in a technicolor of confetti and festivity.

pure gold...

Boy do I love things that look dipped in precious metals like these porcelain mugs..

a pinch of paris in {san diego}...

If visions of baguettes and berets find themselves in your daydreams, gather up your girls and head to Paris...or a little spot in San Diego that channels the dreamy City of Lights. Cafe Chloe in San Diego's East Village is darling spot with just the right touch of girly French charm. Go for brunch or lunch and try the Croque Monsieur, Mac n' Cheese, and the Lavender Lemonade.

{Extra tip: They also serve Urban Tea Time daily which includes tea sandwiches, homemade cookies and sweets, and a pot of tea or prosecco! Photos by Oh Joy.}

rifle paper co.

I know the blog airwaves are going to be a buzz with this, but had to share the new shop of super talented illustrator, Anna Bond and her shop Rifle Paper Co. that just opened today! You can now purchase Anna's incredible work as cards, prints, and more. Congrats Anna!

cutest helmet ever...

In my search for a polka-dotted bicycle helmet, I came across this adorable motorcycle helmet by French brand Ruby. It's crazy-expensive and it's for motorcycle use, but it's a seriously awesome piece so I had to share. How cute would this look while riding a Vespa?

happy friday + feeling like going for a bike ride...

...down the Italian countryside! My new bike arrives any day now and thinking of all the fun ways I can accessorize for my outdoorsy adventures. Whether to the market, along the beach, or to a friend's house, a chic helmet is a must! Still searching for something just right, so if anyone has suggestions for cool helmets available in the US I'd love to hear. Enjoy the weekend all! The countdown to the holidays begins! Oh, and ps. if anyone is planning to go to the Altitude Design Summit, today is the last day for the special registration discount. I'll be there along with a bunch of other folks in the design/blog world.
