l've been loving the easy, throw-it-on nature of shift dresses lately. They feel so spring-like yet flexible for year-round use {with the addition of tights}...and I love how some go perfectly from day to night. — Joy

good morning, cupcake...

I hope you all had a nice weekend! It was action-packed and super fun over here with Emily's premiere party on Saturday {congrats Em!} and our yard sale on Sunday {thanks so much to everyone who came!}. As the busy weekend wound down, I needed a pep of sugar to revive me, and this salted caramel cupcake from Frosted did just the trick. While you may be cursing the fact that I'm posting a photo of a cupcake first thing in the morning, this is the last thing I ate last night so it's super fresh on my mind. It's like a sweet, salty, moist cloud of delight...and the mama to these little babies... — Joy

happy friday + spring things...

Happy Friday guys! Minus the bout of rain we're supposed to get this weekend, I'm feeling like spring is on its way. Therefore, sparkle bow peeps and pink pants are a must. Once my work for the day is done, I'm spending the evening clearing through my closet & office in preparation for our yard sale this weekend. Hope to see some of you there!

ps. For those of you who rsvp'ed to the sale, you should have already received an email from me with an update that the sale has moved to this Sunday instead...due to rain on Saturday. Have a great weekend all! — Joy

secrets from a stylist...

Who's excited? My new favorite HGTV show Secrets from a Stylist premieres this Saturday, February 26th at 9pm! Set your DVR's people, this is the home makeover show for the Domino-loving crowd {and, I say this from personal experience as Emily styled our house for an upcoming episode!}. I'll be at the show's premiere party that night celebrating with host Emily Henderson, the crew, and friends...and can't wait for you guys to see! Big congrats to Emily and the SFAS crew! Here are a few peeks from the first episode featuring newlyweds Bobby and Hillary. Get behind-the-scenes bits at Emily's blog, and check out her Closet & Casa with us from last week! — Joy

currently snacking on...

Alright folks, I've found the chocolate mix of all mixes {well, I didn't actually find them...the amazing Jordan bestowed them to me, and I happily accepted}. Picture this...burnt caramel almonds, burnt caramel hazelnuts, candied cherries covered in dark chocolate, and pearls of creamy organic peanut butter and dark milk chocolate with a crispy center. The Asphalt Jungle Mix from Recchiuti might be all the snack I need to live on a deserted island alone forever.

travel + love...

With wedding season fast approaching, I wanted to share this new invite I created for Wedding Paper Divas that I'm extra excited about. Inspired by travel and vintage stamps, the mix-and-match invitation set feels just right for a destination wedding or for the couple that loves travel and adventure. Available in two color ways, bright and neutral, the digitally printed pieces come on a gorgeous textured stock. I'd love to see them complemented with vintage stamps on the outer envelopes {like the ones shown in photo from The Postage Service}. — Joy

{closet & casa} with sitting in a tree...

who: Tori Hendrix & Myka Haddad, co-owners and founders of Sitting in a Tree, Event Designers, Stylists, Planners, and Professional Party Throwers.

why tori & myka rock: I love when you can tell someone just loves what they do! These girls pour their colorful hearts into planning their events, and it shows in every detail!

in tori's closet: Probably my favorite dress on earth, I call it my Rainbow Brite dress. I wore it to Myka's wedding with Louboutin's and again for my husband's birthday party at The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs with my gold Tom's.  It describes my personal style perfectly—tons and tons of white accented with bold pops of color and some sparkle.

in tori's casa: I made my wedding bouquet from vintage brooches with photos of my dogs {since they couldn't fly to our wedding in Mexico!} and two vintage owls I gave my husband as a present before we flew to the wedding. It's composed of everyday reminders of how awesome that time in our life was, and I get to walk by it every day.

in myka's closet: I'm literally in love with this Alexia Admor dress. It's super special to me because I wore it to our wedding rehearsal, surrounded by all our amazing family. Yes, some may say a sequin dress is a little too fancy to wear out during the day in San Francisco, but I literally also throw this puppy on over my dark skinny jeans, top it off with a casual cardigan and roll out to get coffee. I rock it to parties, to the park, for photo shoots...seriously, I can't get enough of it.

in myka's casa: My husband and I may share a little one-bedroom apartment, but that hasn't stopped me from filling our place with my favorite furniture pieces. I may have an itty bitty addiction to chairs, and this Eames Rocker fits the bill when it comes to things I love. It's small and cute and functional. It kind of floats around our living room to be used whenever & wherever. I love it's simple shape and clean lines.

Thanks Girls!

Present & Correct has got to be one of my favorite online shops for great vintage & stationery items...so I'm especially loving these pieces in particular for their technicolor goodness {those book plates have me swooning}! — Joy
