carmela ice cream class...


One of my favorite LA artisanal ice cream shops, Carmela in Pasadena, just started offering classes...and I was thrilled to attend one this past weekend. My friend Caroline and I spent Saturday morning learning about herbal infusions from owners Jessica and Zach. Because all of their flavors use only pure and organic ingredients, we learned how to infuse the ingredients of choice into ice cream and sorbet. We made Vanilla Bean Lemon Verbena ice cream and Lemon Basil Sorbet...yum! It was a morning of learning and sampling...and what's better than ice cream and cookies for breakfast? Carmela has another class later this month and are planning a savory-themed class next! — Joy
