I've been a huge fan of the Mike & Chris for a while and love Mike Gonzalez's newest collection of casual, yet feminine, separates. The mix of materials, patterns, and textures...swoon... — Joy

my favorite kind of medicine in {beverly hills}...

I've posted about Red Medicine before but finally had a chance to visit again when it was still light out and could take some photos to share with you. Red Medicine is quickly becoming one of my new favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. The mix of Southeast Asian inspired flavors and dishes with a bit of molecular gastronomy... the plating is always stunning and the flavors are incredible. The last dish pictured is actually a dessert with rolled mango slices, freeze-dried mascarpone cream, and cookie crumbles! — Joy

happy friday + little things...

This morning I woke up thinking..."I wish is was Friday already" and to my delight, it is! I wanted to end this week by sharing a couple mini things for our little babe that just make me smile. I received this sweet stuffed hamburger from Jen that I just love. While most people would want dolls or girly things for their little girl, stuffed food already seems so perfect for her. Hope your weekend is full of tiny delights just like this... — Joy

Also, Congrats to Michelle T. from Toronto, Canada {#526} with her sunset-inspired mood board for being our lucky winner of the BHLDN giveaway! Thanks so much to all of you who took the time to create a mood board and enter!

{closet & casa} with kate gabriel...

who: Kate Arends Gabriel, Graphic Designer and Blogger

why kate rocks: I've been a longtime fan of Kate's eye for modern design and thoughtful typography!

in her closet: I purchased this little wallet at a thrift store back when I was in college. I didn't think much of it at the time, but it has stayed with me everyday for the past 5 years. I only became more attached to it after the gold began to pull away from the material...revealing a pretty blue color underneath. It's a happy accident that has invited countless complements that I can't take all the credit for!

in her casa: Both my mother and grandmother have a weakness for gold figurines. It must be hereditary, because I've collected them ever since I took one of my mother's with me to college. These two deer figures are the most recent addition to my collection. They are bigger than many you'll see in antique stores and look lovely on my credenza as bookends.

Thanks Kate!
