{closet & casa} with audrey woollen...

who: Audrey Woollen, Shop Owner

why audrey rocks: First of all, she appreciates all things letterpress. Her shop is full to the brim with the best paper products around!

in her closet: When I discovered this scarf at Banana Republic, I knew we were meant to be together! It was actually the only one in the store, so I pulled it from a display. It's hard to see in the photos, but there are golden thread woven between the stripes. The combination of neutral colors mixed with the subtle sparkle detail make it the perfect scarf to throw on whether I'm dressing up or down.

in her casa: I'm a huge fan of good lighting. I didn't want a fussy chandelier in our dining room, but I did want something amazing that would inspire me to entertain more at home. This mason jar light fixture from Pottery Barn took the work of some very strong men to install, but it brings me absolute happiness everyday and offers countless moods on it's dimmer.

Thanks Audrey!

currently snacking on...

Now that my gallbladder is long gone, and my eating life can resume as normal...my sweet tooth is back in full force! I love twists on classic treats, so these candy bars by H.S. Chocolate Co. have been my go-to sweet snack lately. My favorite is the Figgy Blue—soft nougat with toasted walnuts and Bayley Hazen blue cheese atop fig ganache and dipped in dark chocolate—sounds crazy but it's so good! And, as a pumpkin fan, I love the Pumpkin Spice—a chewy spiced nougat on a layer of smooth pumpkin caramel made with a blend of autumn spices. I love that they both blend sweet and savory, so it feels like a grown-up treat for sure... — Joy

happy thanksgiving + thankful for moms...

As we approach the holiday season this weekend, thoughts of family and all the things we're thankful for come to mind. We've been lucky to have one of our moms staying with us since Ruby was born six weeks ago. Bob's mom came first for a few weeks, then my mom for the last couple weeks. Before they arrived, I was nervous that I'd feel overwhelmed having them here for weeks at a time with the new baby. But truth is, it was amazing. Our moms were so helpful...cooking us homemade Thai and Korean meals, helping out with the baby, giving us our space to figure things out, and being around to get to know their new granddaughter. I found myself growing closer to both of them and having a new found respect for them as our moms. There were no video monitors, diapers with wetness indicators, or fancy swaddle blankets back in the 70's when we were born, yet they seemed to make it all work.

They're both back in Philly now, and we miss them and look forward to when they'll be able to visit again. So, friends, what small moments lately are you most thankful for this holiday? I hope you have a great long weekend with your loved ones. See you back here on Monday! — Joy

{closet & casa} with shoko wanger...

who: Shoko Wanger, Writer + Blogger

why shoko rocks: Shoko is one of those gals with awesome, quirky style that comes off ever so effortless!

in her closet: During the winter months here in New York City, I find myself wearing a lot of black and gray—colors that are easy to layer and match. This season, however, I'm thrilled to add this mustard yellow, polka-dot dress from Shareen Vintage into my neutral-heavy rotation. Everything about it—the colors, the cut, the squareness of the shoulders—makes me so happy. I keep it at the front of my closet just so I can look at it.

in her casa: I bought this horseman on a trip to India my senior year of college. It's a time in my life that I remember with so much joy, and this little guy, who lives on a shelf right next to my well-worn india guidebook, is a constant reminder of what an unforgettable experience it was. Much like my polka-dot dress, it's an instant pick-me-up!

Thanks Shoko!
