You guys, the last couple weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement, craziness, and a little less sleep than usual with the launch of the Oh Joy book and my recent book tour. I had a couple book parties—one in LA and one in New York to celebrate with those of you who have been such wonderful supporters of Oh Joy. It was seriously amazing to meet each and every one of you who came out. I wish we could go to more cities, but as a mama of two (and one being very tiny), two cities was all I could make happen right now. But, I wanted to share some photos from the two parties so that in some small way it can feel like you guys in other cities were all there celebrating with us, too!
In LA, West Elm was decked out in streamers galore. It's inspiring to see how much a space can change with the work of a few really creative people. My team (Casey, Angie, and Julia) and I were so excited to celebrate this baby that we'd all worked on for so long together.
During the party, it was fun being there with Oh Joy readers and supporters, friends, family, colleagues, many happy and familiar faces, and simply everyone who took the time to come by. We snacked on treats by Heirloom LA and we all screamed for ice cream by Jeni's Ice Cream.
And then in New York....(click below to see more)
New York was the first city I lived in after college. It's where I had my first apartment by myself, my first real job, and got my feet wet as a designer and as an adult in New York. It was fun to be back and see old friends, colleagues, and those of you who follow along with Oh Joy in the city that never sleeps. The creative team at the West Elm in Chelsea decked out the store into a colorful, whimsical space for the night.
We had Jeni's (because every party is better with ice cream), I met with so many amazing kids, budding artists, mothers, business women, some college friends (above!) and lots of amazing boyfriends/husbands who came as dates ;)
Thank you again to everyone who came out for the book parties, those of you who purchased books, and everyone who has supported our work here by reading and following along for however long you have been. The way in which we can connect with each other virtually has changed my life and the way in which my career has evolved in a way I would have never expected, but am so grateful to be able to in this way with you.
