Today, we're taking inspiration from one of my favorite skirts by Thief & Bandit to inspire the color scheme of a little reading nook. Take a look!
With accents of blue, lavender, and black, we took the colors from the skirt and the floral theme from the print as inspiration.
1. Add darker colors to pastel. We started with a pink/lavender color blocked wall and grounded the pastel color combo with a black rug to make this reading nook feel more sophisticated. Without the darker colors, the pastel could feel too kid-like.
2. Mix books and small decorative objects. To make the bookshelf feel styled and not-too-heavy, we mixed our book collection with other small props. Also arrange books both standing up and laying down to vary the weight of how they sit on a book shelf.
3. Bring in the flora. Inspired the floral print of the skirt, this space has an underlying floral theme with the wall art and plants sprinkled throughout.
4. Get cozy. Finally, add soft textures and items that will make this reading nook perfect for an evening of soaking up your latest read.
