oh joy for keds is here!

Two years in the making, and I'm excited to share with you our new collection with Keds that launched today! Inspired by bold and bright colors, extravagant textures, and finding that perfect balance of whimsy and sophistication, these shoes are meant to add a bright spot to every adventure we take (whether simple or grand). Here's a look at the four styles in the collection...

The Kickstart Sneaker! This pair combines the beauty and sophistication of gold metallic foil printed on subtly pink leather with an unexpected and perfectly juxtaposed bright neon edge. We added bright pink around the edges for a seriously happy detail. This pair has three different lace options that will be hard to chose between—white with an understated mix of gold and gold metal ends, solid pink, or play up the party element in an ombre pink. ($90)

The Champion Sneaker! This pair has Keds' iconic silhouette with a fun neon pink Jacquard with flecks of gold woven throughout. This pair comes with two different lace options—white with subtle gold woven throughout and gold end, and light pink laces with a bright neon end to match the color palette of the shoes. ($120)

The Double Decker Mule! This pair is a subtle, yet sparkling, addition to your summer wardrobe that goes with everything. The texture is printed in holographic foil printed on leather combining shimmer and soft, beautiful material. The elastic on the top and the sides both have a shimmer which I love. The mules are so easy to slide on and off during these warm (I mean HOT) summer months! ($90)

The Triple Decker Slide On! This pair is simply a party for your feet! The triple decker heel adds a fun boost of height while the slide-on style makes it easy to pull on and off. The shoe is made of a confetti mix of pearlescent, metallic, AND neon color sequins. I especially love the tiny runs of rainbow sequins  that bring a subtle multi-color mix. The elastic up top adds a fun pop of neon that is sure to make you smile every time you slip these on. ($90)

Have you seen the new Life Planners™ from Erin Condren for 2021?  There are two different interior designs now (layers or flowers), tried and true designs, and brand new innovations—hours or vertical or horizontal—basically all the choices you could hope to make in a single planner. And they're out now with our Oh Joy! x Erin Condren seventies-inspired designs including Disco Daisies, Mod Mosaics, and Groovy Stripes.

This year the LifePlanner™ comes with the option to have inside a colorful or neutral layers version or a colorful flower power version - which offers even more customization than before. Then, as always, you can choose your layout (vertical, horizontal, or hourly); you can choose your coil color (black, platinum, rose gold and gold); and you can choose to customize with your name or a phrase, or have an all-over pattern with no customization.  The choices are yours and make the LifePlanner™ one of the most customizable planners out there!

This year, they are also offering completely different formats if you want to try something new! They have binders instead of coiled planners. They also have a daily spread in their coiled notebooks. But don't worry - their tried and true formats are still available in weekly and monthly spreads, as well as teacher planners and academic planners! bathtime just got cuter...

I am so excited to announce our newest collaboration - Bubbles and Books with Tubby Todd! Tubby Todd is one of my very favorite kids' bath brands, and we've worked together to create a Raspberry and Black Currant Bubble Bath inspired by our first ever kids' book, Be Curious! Read along with our curious cat while your little one enjoys a bubble bath!

It's that time of year again - new Oh Joy for Erin Condren teacher planners are launching TODAY! These are seriously the best planners for teachers (and non-teachers) to keep all their activities and schedules straight! We love them so much and are so excited that they're back and with our brand new designs: Mod Mosaic, Disco Daisies and Groovy Stripes.

Now more than ever, we value our amazing teachers so much (and can't wait till they can teach our kids in person again)! I am personally not cut out to teach 2nd grade math and pre-school violin lessons! So how amazing it would be if we all gifted these planners to our teachers this year. Our first Oh Joy! Story Book: BE CURIOUS! launches today! Thank you sooo much for those of you that pre-ordered (your pre-order gift should be arriving soon). And if you haven't ordered your copy yet, you can find the book at your favorite bookstore or these retailers also carry it.

our newest collection of kids' shoes is here!

I'm so excited to share our newest collection and second round of kid's shoes for See Kai Run! Designed with adventure and play in mind, the collection is colorful, fun, and durable for every adventure!

This collection comes in two designs available in the high top sneaker style — Super Stars and Sunny Sprinkles! From sizes 4 to 13.5, they fit from toddlers to big kids which make for fun mixing-and-matching for siblings and friend, too. You can find them both here at See Kai Run right now!

shop closing Q&A!

Thank you guys so much for all of your support in the last week after we announced that we're saying goodbye to our e-commerce shop! The orders have poured in and that has helped us tremendously to clear through our remaining inventory. If you've ordered anything in our final sale over the last few days, those orders are being fulfilled and you'll have it in your hands very soon!

We received lots of questions about our e-com shop closing, so I wanted to talk a bit more about it now that our sale is done...

Q: Why are you closing your shop?

A: As a business owner, I try new things all the time. Things evolve in my business, and I get ideas for new avenues to go and new ways to expand my business. Sometimes those things flourish, and sometimes they don't. I usually give a new part of my business two years to see if it's working before continuing with it or deciding to move on. Back when I had my own stationery line in 2007, I gave it 2 years before deciding to close it. It was financially draining, and I found myself stuck with tons of credit card debt trying to keep up with producing more and more product. After I closed that line, I moved into licensing which was one of the best decisions I made for this business and a big part of the work we still do today.

A similar thing happened here with the Oh Joy! online shop. As we reached two years of having our own e-commerce, it didn't make sense financially for us to continue with that part of the business. It wasn't financially beneficial for us and took much more resources than we were making from it. It was a bittersweet decision to close it, but it will make space (mentally, physically, and financially) for other parts of the business to grow.

Q: Will we still be able to buy your product collections and collaborations?

A: YES! You'll still be able to buy all of our product collaborations through our partner's retail sites. We are in the process of updating our website and soon you'll be able to easily find where you can purchase everything Oh Joy! We also have lots more coming this year! Instead of managing the sales of those products, we are leaving it in all of our partner's very capable hands.

 

Q: What about the rest of Oh Joy?

A: While I know this seems like a big change to our customers, the online shop only accounted for about 10-15% of our annual revenue. It was a very small portion of the Oh Joy! business for the past two years. Oh Joy! is still here. We have lots more new and exciting things coming this year (from product launches to my house reveals and more!). We have some bittersweet news for you today! After two years of testing out our own e-commerce shop, we’ve decided to focus our efforts on other areas of the Oh Joy! business and are closing our online shop after this weekend. We're incredibly thankful for all of our amazing vendors and to all of you for being with us on this journey and for your support. It means the world to us!

To say goodbye, we're offering 40% OFF the Oh Joy! Shop site-wide (including current sale items) through Sunday night at 11:59pm PST.

We still have lots of other exciting things planned for this year and beyond, and you will still be able to find all of our Oh Joy! collections online at our partner websites.
